This place has been under new owners for a few years now if I remember. Donuts are still just as good!

Absolutely the best donuts I've had. Seems like a hole-in-the wall but those are sometimes the best places to visit.

Apple Fritter 4.2/5 overall. Crispness 5/5. Flavor blend 5/5. Dough 4/5. Fruit volume 3/5. Size and Value 4/5. Excellent crisp outside, I dare say the crispiest fritter I have ever had. Excellent flavor blend with sweet notes of caramel apple. I have been wanting to try this place for quite a while and the detour did not disappoint!

Unbelievably light raised doughnuts beyond perfection...compared to the Doughnut of the Year winner I was fortunate to experience about 9 years ago. The place is so unimpressive and nondescript. I only stopped out of coffee desperation and weakened for a doughnut from which I only expected over-sweetened gluten. I was shocked at the airy fluffiness of the raised doughnut I selected. I couldn't believe it was real. I returned a week later and got two. Same marvelous experience. I asked where they got their doughnuts and the old guy said they "Make here." Still dubious I returned a third time and tripled my happy experimentation. Weeks later after too much exclamation to the housemates, I brought a dozen home for their assessment. Doughnut glory confirmed and all agreed with my praise. However... We're all out of luck until they finish renovations (see attached pic). No reopening date was posted. Worth the wait :)

Fry-day Donuts. Specifically, old fashioned donuts. A drive around Lake Washington collecting donuts seemed like a good idea at 5am. But here we are. Seven donuts for two people is... a lot (we actually bought fourteen bc I don't like old fashioneds) and we had to make way more than seven stops bc everyone apparently thought today would be a good day for an old fashioned donut as well. Result: We couldn't agree on which is the best: me = CloudBreak or Dona Queen, spouse = Countryside or Despi Delite. But we did agree that Despi Delite and Dona Queen are solid choices. ((This checks with the donut party we threw a few years back but in that taste-testing we did not stick to a specific kind of donut. So it wasn't a true apples-to-apples comparison.)) Choose Dona Queen if you like a crunchier exterior in your old fashion. It was the crunchiest of the seven.

I have come here twice while passing through Seattle! I took donuts to my hair salon and they still haven't stopped talking about how good they are. A perfect way to describe it is "Old School". It brings back memories from when I use to walk to the donut shop back home in Long Beach, Ca. Just good old school donuts. I don't always want something fancy with tons of toppings and sugar. This is the place! They have great tasting donuts especially if you want to take some to work or anything like that. Support Small! They are always fresh and taste so good.

A gem for its cheap, affordable donuts that are very high quality. I wish there were more places like this around Seattle, and it's definitely one of those last remainders precluding gentrification. The chocolate glazed custard donut is fantastic - very fried, browned, nutty, almost savory in its exterior. Chocolate glaze is the ideal fine line between sugary sweet and a hint of dark chocolate. Custard is generous and had a tang from what seemed like lemon. Buttermilk bar was okay, but it seems like the donuts are more where it's at. Need to try the fritter and maple bar next time. insta "not disappearing" seattle. possible best apple fritters in town.

Donut?! Bomb! Literally all the ones that were stuffed with cream/jelly were so good! I especially loved the blueberry one! But the classic glaze was delicious as well!
